In my pvp guild we run a comp of with a boomkin (and the standard melee-caster-rogue setup) I joined the guild recently and I have a quite unique position I can 'chose' what character I want to play in the guild being it: my shadowpriest, my elemental shaman or my own boomkin.
I did the first games as elemental and found it .. disappointing. With the cd on tremor and all the nerfs on mechanics (and the spamming fear of enemy warlocks) This coupled with the starfall nuking my hex which breaks.. I could not easily see why elemental would beneficial to the other options. My only real added value was (imho) the earthquake on flagnodes which absolutely raped them.
Shadowpriest has a silence and horror effect. Bringing a lot of extra pressure to enemy healers and does not care if the target is nuked by starfall or not. Besides that I have the feeling shadowpriest hit harder. Last but not least purging from elementals, can also be done by a priest. (and the survivibilty, althoght not great, is less aweful as elemental shamans)
Last option is putting an extra boomkin in the team. We all know damage wise they rock the battleground. Only downside is the huge DR by multiple boomkins and resto.
Any thoughts and / or points I forgot to make my decision?

- Everywhere I go (PvP realms, quakenet etc) I see people asking for Boomkins, Mages or Locks. I know those specs are important but as a MS Ele Shaman i've yet to find anyone who'd want me. I'm sitting at 1690 CR ( losing more games than winning) with 2,1k exp in both arenas and RBGs (last year on horde, now i'm alliance). I thought having that experience will actually make people be.

Specially with lasoo, pop pet into a full lasoo means they are gunna take some heavy dmg. Now Ele isn't really about 1 shot Earth Shocks, you need haste and vers or crit second. You need to be building that marlstrom up as fast as possible. In RBGs you can think about more crit as you've got enough targets to build on and line up a kill.
